KUALA
LUMPUR, June 5 – PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, the domestic marketing
arm of PETRONAS, today unveiled its newest fuel for the Malaysian market, PETRONAS PRIMAX 3.
A replacement for the company’s
previous petrol brand, PRIMAX, this
revolutionary new fuel offers customers the benefits of high-performance petrol
-- maximum power output, better fuel economy and cleaner engine -- minus the
premium price.
Sold at PETRONAS service stations
nationwide at the regular standard price of RM1.92 a litre, PETRONAS PRIMAX 3 enables
Malaysian drivers from all walks of life to enjoy the benefits of high
performance petrol without having to pay extra.
A
product of PETRONAS’ continuous long-term fuel development programme that has
produced highly successful previous fuel brands, PETRONAS PRIMAX 3 is
yet further proof of Malaysian R&D ingenuity in developing world-class fuel
products.
“This is our most significant
product introduction in the past two years,” said Encik Ibrahim Marsidi,
Managing Director/CEO of PETRONAS Dagangan at a special media briefing on PETRONAS PRIMAX 3 here today.
“We are positioning PETRONAS
PRIMAX 3 to become the first-choice fuel in Malaysia. We believe we have the
right product at the right price, as PETRONAS PRIMAX 3 is a
revolutionary high quality fuel that delivers more energy to power modern
engines and re-energise old ones,” added Encik Ibrahim.
The media briefing was followed by
an official launch of the product, officiated by Domestic Trade and Consumer
Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal.
PETRONAS PRIMAX 3 has been formulated and
blended with a unique PETRONAS-developed additive, SINAR G-05, to ensure that
all vehicles operate at peak performance and maximum efficiency. The additive
delivers detergent, demulsifier and anti-corrosion properties for superior
engine cleanliness, fuel clarity and rust protection, respectively.
SINAR G-05 has been extensively
tested in laboratories in Malaysia,
US and Europe and is proven to remove even the
most stubborn deposits inside the engine and gives maximum engine protection.
PETRONAS PRIMAX 3 was also extensively
tested for more than a year by PETRONAS’ R&D arm PETRONAS Research &
Scientific Services Sdn Bhd, as well as by OCTEL Fuel Technology Centre in the United Kingdom
for its performance and engine-friendliness, in compliance with international
standards and procedures.
PETRONAS PRIMAX 3’s fuel performance
specification also places it firmly in the top tier of Engine Cleanliness
specifications under the World Wide Fuel Charter.
“A product
of homegrown R&D in collaboration with PETRONAS’ international technical
partners, PETRONAS
PRIMAX 3 is developed to cater
especially to Malaysia’s driving conditions and is set to bring more motoring
satisfaction to our customers,” said Encik Ibrahim.
