Hewlett-Packard (M) Sdn Bhd today announced the grand prize winner of
the HP Valentine's Love Yourself online contest. Mr Arasagesari
from Sungei Petani, Kedah, will be traveling to the world's city of love, Paris, after winning an
all-expense paid holiday worth RM20, 000 for five days and four nights.
The
contest was held from 29 January to 25 February 2007, in conjunction with
Valentine's Day. This online contest is a follow-through integral
component of a wider global integrated marketing campaign for HP's Personal
Systems Group, named The Computer is Personal Again. The
campaign emphasizes the vision of a highly individual and personal relationship
with the computer, unique to each user.
"We
received an overwhelming response for this special online contest. I'm glad
plenty of Malaysians actually took the opportunity to have fun and also learn
up the breadth of products that HP offers. I'd like to specially congratulate the winner,
for his superb effort in this contest," said Danny Lee, Country General Manager, Personal Systems Group, Hewlett-Packard
(M) Sdn Bhd.
"I am very
delighted to win this trip to Paris.
This is my first overseas trip and the city of love is my dream vacation spot. I've
read so much about it - finally I will be visiting this interesting place with
my beloved father," said Mr. Arasagesari, 21, an Information Technology (IT) course
student of Politeknik Seberang Perai from Sungai Petani, Kedah.
As an IT student,
Arasagesari has to work on assignments from the school and most of it would require
him to use a computer. "My first HP machine was actually a printer. That was my
first good experience with HP. When I entered the polytechnic that I am
studying now, I was amazed that my school's computer lab was using HP desktops.
From then I've been happily using HP products," he said.
"I would like to thank HP
for everything. This is truly a great gift and I am proud to be a loyal
customer of HP. This is the biggest
surprise of my life as this is my first time participating and winning a
contest. My father and I are really grateful for this, as we have never dreamt
of having such a chance of a lifetime to visit Paris," added Arasagesari.

Online Contest with his purchase of a unit of Compaq Presario V3100.
Arasagesari managed to rank the HP products correctly as well as completing the
given sentence most creatively.
The contest
was open to the general public and aimed at encouraging everyone to celebrate their
independence by rewarding themselves - the theme was focused on the individual.
With every
purchase of a HP Pavilion or a Presario desktop or notebook, buyers received a
HP Love Devil Pack which includes a "Little Devil" novelty toy, user ID and
password. In the first stage of the contest, participants were required to log
on to the competition website with the user ID and password provided at the
weblink, www.hp.com.my/valentine. They
were then required to complete their personal details.
For the second stage, contestants were required to
rank the following HP products - notebook, iPAQ PPC, printer, photo printer,
desktop, all-in-one, table PC and HP monitor based on their preference and to
complete the sentence " The thing I love the most about myself is" in less than
50 words.
