What's unique about Malaysia's
night life? Find out with the just-announced Nokia Nseries Soul of the Night City
Guide at www.nseries.com/soulofthenight!
This unique platform enables users to discover, capture and share the best
night time entertainment, activities and little-known locations in their cities
across Malaysia
through their mobile devices.
As part of SOTN initiative,
Nokia Nseries also announced that it will be organizing the sequel to its
highly successful Nokia Nseries Wireless Adventure. The Nokia Wireless
Adventure 2: ‘Discover the Soul of the Night' race will challenge members of
the public to race around the streets of Kuala Lumpur in search for the
‘coolest' and ‘best-hidden' gems in Kuala Lumpur's night life.
To participate in
this nocturnal adventure, all you have to do is surf over to www.nseries.com/soulofthenight,
register as a member, and sign-up for the race. Eight lucky participants will
be chosen to discover the Soul of the Night and stand a chance to win a Nokia
N82 and a trip to Hong Kong for two.
The closing date to sign-up
is March 25, 2008 and the selected participants will be notified via email. Read on for more info.
Uncovering
Malaysia's
best-kept secrets
Every secret
needs a guide to unlock it, so SOTN kicks off with the introduction of six SOTN
ambassadors* - namely local bloggers Boo_licious
(http://masak-masak.blogspot.com),
KY (http://www.kyspeaks.com)
and dizzy_firefly (http://liy.vox.com), freelance writer Adrian Yap, theatre producer Penny Low and freelance food writer Alvin Wales.
The Soul of the
Night ambassadors will act as ‘guides' to Malaysia after-hours, and will share
their "discoveries" - new activities, places of interest and events - through the
SOTN City Guide. Curious adventurers looking to discover new things to do at
night can browse the discoveries made by the SOTN ambassadors simply by surfing
over to the SOTN City Guide.
But that's not
all! Anyone can get in on the action too and share their very own discoveries
by registering themselves on the SOTN City Guide website. Registered users can
upload images of their places they've discovered, write a short description
about that place and record location information. They can also "Tell a friend"
about their new locations, post comments and check out where other people like
to hang out.
Nokia Nseries
users have the added convenience of opting to download a special Soul of the
Night application that will allow them to instantly upload their pictures via
WiFi or 3G wherever they are.
Andrew Cheong, Managing
Director, Nokia Malaysia
said, "The Soul of the Night initiative is our way of extending the photography
experience. At Nokia, we strongly believe in creating new experiences for our
customers; not just delivering more megapixels or a xenon flash, but by really harnessing
technology to create a compelling experience."
"The Soul of the Night City
Guide is an open platform for the man-in-the-street to contribute his own
discoveries and post photos of his favourite locations in their cities. It
isn't just about the usual touristy spots or commercial venues. It encompasses
all these plus the nooks and crannies which only locals know. It could be a
place to catch the best view of the city or an interesting drawing on a wall, a
hip hang-out, or a favourite mamak or
roadside stall; Nokia invites the public to share the true soul of their cities
with others around the world," he added.
