There will be no school for students around the country on April 26. Announcing this on Tuesday, Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin
Tun Hussein said this was to mark the installation of the Yang
di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Chief Secretary to the
Government Tan Sri Sidek Hassan said the Public Services Department
(PSD) would issue the circular on the matter to all government
departments and agencies as soon as possible.
He said Tuanku Mizan, 44, would be installed as the 13th Yang di-Pertuan Agong in a ceremony at Istana Negara on April 26.
Still on the subject of holidays, May 2nd has been declared a public holiday. In a statement today, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri
Mohd Sidek Hassan said this was due to the overlapping of Wesak Day and
Labour Day celebrations on May the 1st.
