heading towards branding Malaysia and its products and services with much zest.
Malaysia is risingly being positioned as an active outsource technology
innovator in the region joining the likes of countries like Japan, Hong Kong
and Singapore.
The
Malaysian community is increasingly using the Internet for economic, finance,
politics, communication and social networking. "Malaysian content found on the
Internet is a clear indication of the deep interest especially among the
younger generation who use the medium to exchange opinions on varied topics,"
said Shariya.
"Looking
at the high growth of the internet usage, it would be highly beneficial for
every individuals, organizations and governments to expose their businesses,
society and products via the Net," said Mr. Amarjit Singh, Senior Director of
MCMC who was speaking on behalf of MCMC Chairman, Datuk Dr. Halim Shafie.
This
clearly displays the nation's affinity towards this new medium which serves as
a multipurpose venue for business or pleasure. The current generation is going
to progress into Malaysia's future business and political future thus carrying
this trend to a higher level.
Local
government agencies are already shifting actively into the ICT sphere by
launching online filing, forms and payments to make life easier for government
procedures. This same initiative must be adopted by the rest of the nation to
ensure that the growth level of this technology boom is well balanced and every
layer of the society is given equal opportunity to reap the benefits of
automation.
