Hands up those of you who have a Maybank2u account. Now, put your hands down if you are satisfied with their service. I for one have grown fed up of with their quality of service. Its painstakingly slow all the time, except in the wee hours of the morning, and when its not slow, its probably not working at all!

Admittedly, they have a million or so online users, and this would be the reason for their really bad service. I wonder how other banks with online services like CIMB Clicks and PBE Ebank are able to offer top notch service while Maybank can't.

Their online service has been down all day (it was crawling in the morning), and we believe its the end of the month salary checking frenzy that has caused this outage.

firefox cannot load but ie can? maybe they build the site which is IE-only. they dont check the compatibility with other browsers. what a lazy web programmer. i think mb2u should use mirror site for their online banking. in case one of the web server is down, customer have other options.
make its infrastructure like this:
3 webserver
1 database server, 1 backup database server
hope this might help mb2u
btw, i dont recommend mb2u to use squid cache on their web browser. data for transaction is changing, do we dont want users to load cached data.

Please bare in mind that after 00:00 almost all banks will be conducting a maintenance service. One thing for sure, both M2U and CIMBClicks do.

As for me, I would still prefer CIMBClicks, reason being, M2U uses too much of Javascripts and it's too annoying.

Plus point for CIMBClicks when you reload your cell phone credit, you don't have to enter the coupon id to your phone, unlike M2U.

I'm sorry to rate this article as poor. First of all I would like to read something more substantial (proof, comparison, etc).

Second, try to be open minded, balance opinion (not being bious for instance) and less emotional. Whining about it will not solve the problem. However, constructive criticism (which you have some) will help.

As for my experience. I have been M2U user for very long time. At one point it is slow. Then I realize that Firefox is the culprit. Most of the time! Sometime (not so often) is due to congestion.

Hey! I'm die hard supporter of Firefox. But in this case I don't mind to use IE for M2U. After all they are both free software. Different story on Linux or other OS. I hope alternative like Opera or Safari don't have same problem.

Anyway, I do hope MB2U can improve. The fact that there are lots of competition should keep em on their toes. Hell, after hearing good comment about CIMB, I feel like I want to try it. Maybe tomorrow I'll drop by to the nearest branch!

I've been using M2U for the past 6 years and frankly, i am very satisfied with their service. I do not face any problems as mentioned by the author. From some of the comments, it seems like firefox is the cause. Anyway, i'm using IE so hard for me to comment. I would suggest that you try to use IE. Yeah.. yeah.. I know the speed diff between Firefox, IE, Safari, etc but i think it doesnt matter that much in Malaysia since the bottleneck is TM. You may squeeze 2-5 seconds from firefox/safari but TM slows you down for 20-30 seconds. If you have a fast line like other countries, then the web browsers have a bigger role.

Anyway, I have also been using CIMBClicks, well when it was still under BCB. Since then, i opened another account and closed the older one. Comparing to CIMBclicks, I would still prefer M2U. TAC request in CIMBclicks takes a long time. Sometimes it takes almost 5 minutes and sometimes, it does not reach me at all. Yes, my number is registered. As for M2U, i have not faced any problems yet. The TAC feature is extremly important since a lot of the transaction requires it. Getting it late/not receiveing it at all is really frustating.

And for those who are trying to check their online account past midnight (CIMBClicks/M2U), you might wanna do it earlier. They tend to "deactivate" their server past midnite although it is stated "operational for 24 hours" . Sometimes you may enter but transaction is limited. Other times, it gives some error upon keying in your username/password. Most of the time, the common excuse is "Server is undergoing maintanence". Take a look at the post from "StarS" at 00:33:03:

ED : Ok, say that your argument is fair (we did try IE as well, not much difference at that time), but just say that it works much better on IE. Our stats alone show that almost 40% of Malaysian users are already using Firefox. Thats more then enough users to ensure that any online service provider should be compatible with both browsers, not just one.

Seriously, we're not going to put up a story based on something everybody knows - TMNets bottlenecks. We tried at least 3 local service providers, and one VPN via Australia - same results all around.

Ya...I also agree...their website is so slow compared to CIMB Bank...And their statement also very bad...If you are a Cimb bank user, then u know what am I talking.CIMB provided EVERY single details of the account history statement...TIME...Transfer from/TO...account balance after transaction...but maybank...only display date...money..dats all...So if you have multiple transaction..then how??How are you going to track??Basically, I'm really SATISFIED with CIMB Bank service...And for maybank,i've already sent an email to adjust your account statement system to ease your customers but seems they reply and ignore...Probably i'm not going to use MBB anymore..

well, i'm not a maybank customer 'cuz i've never had my confidence on that bank. so it wasn't a surprise when i saw this article regarding to the unsatisfied (slow) service. when i was young (10+ yrs back), i accompanied my mum to the bank, we had to take hours to take the Q and to get the job done. so frustrating, after that i told myself not to use this bank in future.

so, TIME to SWITCH. my objective is to use whichever bank that provides most convenience, most up-to-date, and safe service. that's it. i would rank Convenience the most important

i went to atm this morning. try to withdraw 700. 1st transaction. atm was so slow. no money come out. No slip either. atm said, they got problem. please try again.

I try again 10second after that. this time like normal. rm700 in my hand. But... they deduct rm1400 from my account. as if i got my money from my 1st withdrawal. Damn...

Now i've to wait for 1 week to get my money back. They need to check this n that to make sure my transaction is correct.
