If you didn't already know, English Premier League champions Manchester United, will be making a stop in Malaysia sometime next week. Besides flocking to the Bukit Jalil Stadium on Saturday (18 July) to witness the Red Devils unleash a massive can of whoop as on the Malaysian XI team, Nike Malaysia has also organized various other events to complement the upcoming match up.
First off, one lucky fan aged between 16 - 21 years old will stand the chance to shadow the team through out the duration of their stay here in Malaysia. He or she will be granted full access to the team's schedule and will be given access to training sessions, public appearances, and of course the big match itself, thanks to the ongoing Football Obsessed Teen Reporter competition that's currently being run on Hitz.FM.
Nike Malaysia will also be organizing a 5-on-5 streetball competition for youths aged between 15 - 18 years old called the Nike 5 Streetball Challenge. Held at the KLCC outdoor car park on the 16 - 17 July, the winning team of this competition will walk away with grandstand tickets to the game, a whopping stash of Nike goodies worth RM5000, and a kick-about session with the Manchester United team.
Lastly, Nike has also announced that the new Manchester United home kit (as pictured above) will be available for purchase in stores nation wide from next Thursday (16 July) onwards. Nike Malaysia is also organizing an exclusive preorder promotion for the new kits to ensure that die-hard supporters will have the opportunity to be clad in the new team colours when the Red Devils touch down in Kuala Lumpur.
Customers who purchase the new kits via the pre order promotion will stand a chance to win tickets to the Manchester United vs Malaysia Game, training passes and the chance to meet the stars from the team at an exclusive Nike5 event. Pre orders for the jersey will start from 1-13 July at Nike outlets located at Sunway Pyramid, Pavilion KL, Mid Valley Megamall, Suria KLCC, One Utama and Al-Ikhsan stores at Bukit Bintang Plaza, Sunway Pyramid, Alamanda and Shah Alam.

Football obsessed Teen Reporter
To stand a chance of winning, participants should log on to
www.hitz.fm, register and fill out details explaining why they deserve
to win the role the Official Nike Football Reporter. The selected
participants will receive a call from hitz.fm to be quizzed on all
things Manchester United and those with the most number of correct
answers will then move onto the finals.
The final three participants will be invited to the studio during the
Morning Crew slot where they will face a Manchester United trivia quiz
and be required to simulate a match commentary for the Malaysia vs
Manchester United game. The best commentator who also answers the most
amount of questions right will be named as the Official Nike Football
Reporter.
Nike 5 Streetball Challenge
The tournament is open to youths aged 15-18 years old with only 5
players per team allowed. No entry fee will be required and
participants are encouraged to register early as limited slots are
available. Proof of identification is mandatory and parents’ or
guardians’ authorization on the registration form is required to
acknowledge the terms and conditions of this event.
Teams must present the cut-out portion containing a serial number
attached to each form as their entry ticket to play. School students
are also required bring along a signed and stamped permission form from
their schools on 16 July 2009 and failing to do so will result in
disqualification.
Registration for the Nike5 Challenge will run from 6 - 15 July 2009.
Forms are now available at the following NIKE stores; KLCC, Pavilion,
Midvalley, Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Pyramid. They are also obtainable
at the following Al-Ikhsan outlets; Bukit Bintang Plaza, Alamanda
Putrajaya, Sunway Pyramid and Plaza Alam Sentral Shah Alam. Upon
completion, participants are to return the forms to the respective
outlets.
