The latest buzz is that the Windows Live! team will be releasing @live.com and @windowslive.com user accounts for new signups at live.com. Live.com is the new start page currently being tested by Microsoft and will be replacing the current msn.com start page in the near future.
Basically, if you currently have a @hotmail.com, or a @msn.com email account, you will still be able to snap up a @live.com account, however, your old emails and settings will not be automatically transfered to the new accounts. So you have two seperate email account - not very cool. The Live! Mail Dev Team however are already working on a migration process to allow you to transfer your account from hotmail/msn to live.com.
The scheduled release for the new accounts is June 20th, and i would suspect there would be millions flooding the servers trying to grab the usernames of their choice, so if you want to fo from being
to
, you know where the queue is going to be.
