We continue our series of Interweb Roundups with news on Nokia's touch-screen devices, Firefox Mobile, a retro styled USB flash drive, and a quaint pair of sneakers.

Nokia confirms upcoming touch-screen based N-Series phone?

We start today’s Interweb Update with a snippet of news that is claimed to be “Exclusive” by it’s author - a certain Rajat Agrawal of Cellpassion. Apparently, Nokia reps in India have confirmed that a N-Series touch-screen phone will be making an appearance soon. As usual, there was no comment on a confirmed release date, or even an odd teaser or two, which effectively makes this snippet rather pointless.

Screenshots of Firefox Mobile

Talk around the release of Firefox Mobile has been circulating the net for a couple of weeks now, and thanks to The Unwired, we’ll finally get to see what it’ll potentially look like.
“These screenhots are giving a good impression how the final version of Fennec might look/most likely look like but even more important, the developers managed to run the Acid3 Test with a score of 88/100 - which is impressive for a mobile browser!”

USB floppy disk

It’s a combination that was bound to happen, and when it actually did, it’s creator Thomas O’Connor did a damned fine job of it too! We just love the way the “metal sliders” fold down to become a stand on this larger-than-normal USB flash drive, and right now, we’d love to get our grubby paws all over one.

UBIQ goes hi-tech with a dodgy named partner

If there’s one thing I love more than sneakers and gadgets, it’s definitely got to be sneakers that are gadgets! Hot off the heels (heh!) of the only other mention-worthy gadgety pair of kicks I know of, the Nike + range of sneakers, comes the ASRD - a collaboration between Philadelphia based streetwear store UBIQ and Canadian design house MSTRPLN (“Oh, lets drop all the vowels in our name”. Ain’t that original.).
The modified Nike Dunk carries a Wi-Fi detector over it’s lace area, which detects Wi-Fi networks in your surroundings. When a network is detected, the LEDs on the detector will light up, and you will inexplicably be gifted with superhuman strength. Well actually, we lie - detecting Wi-Fi networks is all the ASRD will do, which in our books rides precariously on the fine line between quaint and useless.
