If there's one company that knows how to throw an exciting themed event, it's definitely got to be HP. In the recent months, we've seen almost everything from the aeroplane inspired launch of the HP Elitebook, to the espresso flavored DV2 launch where everyone was dressed up as a barista.
Yesterday, members of the Malaysian media were treated to yet another dress up spectacle from the technology giants as HP Malaysia unveiled a series of new products that were previously showcased at the Touch the Future. Now. regional showcase which was held in Beijing not too long ago.
And with an event theme like Recipie for Success, there's little wonder why everyone from the ushers to the head honchos like Danny Lee (Country General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Malaysia) were dressed from head to toe in chef garb.
Story continues after the jump.
“Increasingly,
companies are embracing technology as a key driver for their business.
Meeting customers’ IT needs will no longer be addressed by a single
capable device with multi-functions as end-users now expect many
multi-functional devices to complement their needs and usage scenarios” -- Danny Lee, Country General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Malaysia.
Among
the products that made their a debut on Malaysian soil yesterday were
the HP dx2810 Special Edition Desktop PC, the HP t5730w Thin Client,
HP's proprietary SkyRoom technology, the all new HP Probook line of
notebook PCs, and the new line of HP Z series workstations.
In
the desktop / workstation department, products like the HP dx2810
Special Edition Desktop PC address the current demand for more energy
efficient computing. Able to to perform up to 85% more energy
efficiently than other desktop equivalents, the dx2810 SE not only
reduces bottom line costs for businesses, but also lets you feel all
warm and fuzzy inside for knowing that you're doing a little something
for the environment.
“Small and medium-sized
businesses in the region are increasingly aware of the impact that
energy consumption has on their bottom line and the world in which they
live. As an industry leader, HP sees an opportunity to inspire our
customers to make energy-efficient computing a part of their day-to-day
operations” -- Kevin Yap, Product Marketing Manager, Business Desktop, Personal Systems Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.
In
addition to your energy savings, HP also announced that US$10 (RM35)
from the sale of every HP dx2810 Special Edition Desktop PC will go
towards the WWF’s (World Wide Fund for Nature) Coral Triangle Program,
a program that brings governments together in a bid to conserve the
extraordinary marine life in Indo-Pacific.
The HP dx2810 Special Edition Desktop PC is available on the market now at RM2900.
The
often neglected realm of cloud computing also received a boost with the
release of HP's new thin clients such as the HP t5730w. Featuring no
moving parts, these thin clients are not only highly portable, but also
very robust. Ideal for use in offices which put an emphasis on cloud
computing, these thin clients are extremely energy efficient too.
“Cloud computing has the potential to help make once-expensive
information technology available to a mass market through a pay-per-use
model, delivering increased productivity and business growth. HP has
really focused on bringing this potential to life for
businesses. As the number one provider of Thin Client solutions in the
region for the past eight consecutive quarters, we want to go beyond
delivering competitive benefits of cloud computing.” -- Kevin Yap, Product Marketing Manager, Business Desktop, Personal Systems Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.
The HP t5730w is available now and will retail for RM1520.
But things weren't all focused on desktops and workstations, as HP
also too this opportunity to introduce the all new HP Probook series of
business notebooks. Bridging the gap between the uber secure HP
Elitebooks and the ultra portable HP Mini netbooks, the HP Probook
offers an affordable portable computing solution that is ideal for both
business and pleasure.
“The stunning HP ProBook s-series delivers exceptional style
and aggressive pricing that will captivate small and medium business
users. But it’s not just about good looks or low cost, the HP ProBooks
deliver the right blend of features and professional innovations to
provide a great user experience.” -- Phil Devlin, Product Marketing Manager, Mobile Business Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.

design cues that were previously only found on higher-priced models,
