SINGAPORE, June 16, 2006
- HP announced recently that it is working closely with SAP and Intel to increase the adoption of SAP solutions in the small and midsize enterprise market, through a joint partner enablement program.

Select HP channel partners will now be able to deliver full-fledged, integrated and affordable SAP business solutions to midsize enterprises with industry specific Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)-requirements. The three companies see increasing potential for their joint solutions in the fast-growing midsize enterprise market in South East Asia.

The collaboration will extend to jointly funded and executed marketing-programs co-ordinated across the South East Asian market. SAP and HP will provide specialized bundled offerings. Pre-configured SAP business solutions for specific medium enterprise market segments and industry vertical solutions will be packaged with appropriate HP servers. These will run on Intel® architecture and support software minimizing the total cost of implementing an SAP solution.

"This partner program differentiates itself from others in the market, by recognising channel partners not only for sales transactions but also for capacity-building activities such as training and customer satisfaction," said Leslie Ong, Director, Commercial Accounts, Solution Partners and Alliances, HP South East Asia.

According to SAP, the best way to reach out to customers in the midsize enterprise market is through a mix of direct sales teams and channel partners with industry and local market expertise. SAP and Intel chose to work with HP because of the company's significant penetration in this market and its extensive network of channel partners, which include resellers and distributors.

"This collaboration with HP and its channel partners will enable us to more widely provide affordable, best-in-class join solutions for midsize enterprise customers looking to maximize their return on IT investment. The program will enhance the ability of the channel partners of both companies to address the needs of SMEs and forge long-lasting, value-adding relationships." said Pranay Mital, Director of SME Channels Business, SAP Asia Pacific.

By joining SAP PartnerEdge - SAP's existing channel partner program - HP partners can leverage what PartnerEdge offers to value-added resellers (VARs) and independent software vendors (ISVs). For example, SAP PartnerEdge enables members to increase profitability and achieve success in developing, marketing, selling and delivering SAP solutions to medium-sized enterprise customers.

"As midsize enterprises across South East Asia form an important market segment for HP, the SAP PartnerEdge Channel Program will play an integral role in maintaining our momentum and leadership position in the region.  A key element in this program is the focus on long-term customer and partner retention," said Ong.

SAP and HP offer a joint solution stack on Intel® architecture that enables businesses to adapt to change in real-time. HP and SAP have a longstanding alliance of nearly 17 years, and HP is the first SAP partner to achieve 50,000 SAP application implementations. Today, nearly 50 percent of all SAP installations world-wide run on HP.

The collaboration between SAP, Intel and HP help businesses to run more efficiently and provide the flexibility and resilience for them to adapt to changing business needs while maintaining a stable cost structure and ease-of-use. Together, SAP, Intel and HP deliver business process applications, including integrated software, systems and servers, which are supported by specialized consulting, support and managed services.

In May 2006, HP extended its broad portfolio of integrated print, IT infrastructure and end-to-end management solutions for SAP customers with new offerings, including:

·  Central print management capabilities for SAP NetWeaver® - manage document delivery from a single location to streamline workflows and improve the visibility of print status across the SAP applications landscape.

·  HP Virtualized Infrastructure Solution for mySAP(tm) Business Suite - adding certified support for Windows® environments and expanded management capabilities through Microsoft® Operations Manager integration.

·  HP OpenView Incident Exchange Service - automated, bi-directional incident exchange between the HP OpenView and SAP service desk solutions.
