HP Malaysia has just donated 3 units of the HP G-series G3260D Desktop PC and also 3 units of the HP DeskJet D2460 printers to Kiwanis Malaysia. Its the latest in CSR initiative aims to help under-privileged children get a head start to the new school year.
The donation is part of HP Malaysia’s ongoing CSRinitiative and a
follow up to the recent CSR programme that was held in conjunction with
HP’s 50th Merdeka celebrations -- where more than 65 employees of HP
Malaysia took a working day off to spruce up three charitable
organizations – Kiwanis Job Training Centre, Kiwanis Centre for
Learning Disabilities and Rumah Kasih.
HP Malaysia has announced that it will donate three units of the HP G-series G3260D Desktop PCs (including w17e 17-inch TFT Panel Monitors) and also three units of the HP Deskjet D2460 printers to Kiwanis Malaysia. As a responsible and caring corporate citizen, HP Malaysia is committed towards enhancing the lives of under-privileged communities, empowering them to learn new skills and contribute positively to society. The HP G-series G3260D Desktop PCs and HP Deskjet D2460 printers will be used by Kiwanis Malaysia as teaching aids for the under-privileged children under the non-profit organisation’s care.
“HP Malaysia is very much committed to our ongoing CSR initiative which is focused on creating a positive impact in the community that we operate in. This donation is just one of our many ways to assist the under-privileged children,” said Danny Lee, Country General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Malaysia.
“We hope that the children will get a head start this year and for the future as we equip designated Kiwanis learning centres with PCs and printers that will facilitate the learning of new skills and knowledge. After all, knowledge is power, and we want these children to have the means and capabilities to contribute positively to the community,” added Lee.
“Mahatma Gandhi once said, 'We must be the change, we wish to see in the world'. How true of HP Malaysia that they are the change that they want to see in the community. HP is one corporation that is fulfilling its CSR program effectively and Kiwanis Malaysia is only too happy to work in partnership with them to serve the special and needy children in our community,” said Mark Mathew, Governor of Kiwanis Malaysia.
HP Malaysia will continue to work with selected NGOs that share its same vision to promote the social enrichment of underprivileged communities. Other CSR initiatives carried out by HP Malaysia in the past year include among others a charity movie screenings for various children’s homes as well as a company-wide recycling effort that led to all proceeds donated to selected charitable organizations.
