 Animax, the 24-hour youth channel specializing in Japanese animation and
youth programming, is proud to announce Malaysian artiste Hannah Tan as the new
face on Animax. After many rounds of search, Animax decided to pick home-grown
talent Hannah, the first-ever Malaysian artiste appointed by Animax, in a
hosting role that will be telecast region-wide throughout Southeast
Asia.

A confident young
woman and a local artiste who is making waves beyond her native shores, Hannah embodies
the key attributes of Animax’s target audience, the youths and young adults
today. Her friendly and likeable personality, coupled with her strong will and
determination to succeed in her areas of interest, make her a fan and media
favourite. In addition, Hannah also possesses the elusive X-factor that has
made her a successful model and artiste, even becoming FHM Malaysia’s
sexiest woman in 2006.
A multi-talented individual with her second album to be launched soon
after the success of her first, Hannah is a singer-songwriter who composes several
of her own songs, which includes penning the lyrics. Hannah is not lacking in
the grey matter too, being a graduate in computer science. The prolific artiste
has also done several hosting gigs on various productions and fronted numerous
magazine covers including Her World, Hot! and Female.
With music and fashion being key interests of the youths and young adult
populace today, it is no surprise that Hannah is considered by her fans and
peers as an excellent role model given her numerous accomplishments in these areas.
Her drive to put her country on the world map and diligence to achieve her
goals are resonating factors with the youths of today.

Hannah will present a series of vignettes for the channel, which will
include her portraying a fun and funky cheerleader as she introduces the
classic basketball series Slam Dunk in December. Viewers can also join her on a
city-wide hunt as she goes around the capital searching for unique French-inspired
clothes to present the anime series Le Chevalier D’Eon, a French epic set to premiere
on Animax in January.
“Not only does she love anime herself, Hannah is also the epitome of
Animax’s edgy and energetic spirit. She
is the first Malaysian talent we are bringing onto our channel, and I am sure
viewers from Malaysia and
even the rest of the Southeast Asia region
will be able to identify with her,” adds Ow.
