It seems that broadband Internet has become a very popular issue among our Yang Berhormats lately, isn't it? After unveiling the national high speed broadband network last month, now our government has announced that they are going to push the nation’s household broadband penetration rate from 30 per cent to 50 per cent by next year.
Speaking at Asia-Pacific Ministerial Meeting on Strengthening Regional Collaboration towards Broadband Economy, our Minister of Information, Communication and Culture, Datuk Seri Dr. Rais Yatim pointed out that since few years ago, they have continuously working hand in hand to lower down the cost of broadband for the masses.
"However, this is still not enough. We need to do more and in this regard, we have instructed the regulator to review further, the prices for broadband services," - Minister of Information, Communication and Culture, Datuk Seri Dr. Rais Yatim
That sounds good Datuk Seri, but don’t forget that our ISPs need to buck up as well. May we suggest frequent checkups on the quality of our broadband internet service?
