While lots of companies are going down together with the economy, Originex Controls Sdn. Bhd., one of Malaysia's leading speacialists of structured cabling and electronic products, took the opportunity to to spread its wings further. 13 years ago when it first started by simply just distributing structured cable products, it earned a revenue of only a few million. In year 2005 onwards, Originex's revenue grew expotentially and its last financial year that ended on May 31 2009 recorded a revenue of 90 million. Now that's what I call growth.
Now, Originex Controls has four subsidiaries: Originex Eletric Sdn. Bhd, Originex Distribution Sdn. Bhd., Originex Controls (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. and Originex Networks Sdh. Bhd. Growing as a company is certainly not an easy task and Originex's mission statement was the charm - "A commitment to excellence". They beliving in providing the best for their costumers, giving them fair prices and high quality products while providing the best for their staffs and shareholders, and continuous commitment to the community.
Back then, Originex did not have any logo that symbolize that company. Today, with the desire to grow especially in the SEA region, the team in Originex has created a logo with the initials "OGX" taken from the company name.
"We want Originex to be synonymous to structured cabling, data communication/security and lighting solutions provider. We know that building a brand of such nature takes time but we are committed and are confident that we will achieve such brand recognition, hence the creation of the new logo," -- Mr. Tan Ting Fong, managing Director, Originex Controls explained.
Some of the brands that they carry now includes 3COM, BlueCoat, A10Networks, UIT, PaloAlto Networks, IOGEAR and more.
Apart from providing for the structured cabling and electronic products, Originex also focus on the lighting industry by partnering with Philips Lighting and Osram. Back in the days, people only bought light because they desire to have a bright environment. Today, people are concern about the ambiance; different lights provide different effects in the things that they shine. They also focus on lighting products that are friendly to the environment.
