A 33rd minute strike by Fernando Torres was enough to hold off Germany and hand Spain a 1-0 win over Germany in the UEFA European Championships 2008 early this morning.

Spain have not won a major championship in 44 years, but were the toast of the tournament as the most exciting team to watch having won all their games leading to the final.
