Dell recently announced a refresh to its flagship mobile workstation, the Dell Precision M6300, which includes revolutionary enhancements including improved solid state drives (SSDs). The refresh is a result of feedback on Dell’s IdeaStorm customer interactive platform for greater performance capacity on Dell mobile workstations for high-demand tasks such as engineering design, analysis or digital content creation.\

The refreshed Dell Precision M6300 mobile workstation takes performance to a whole new level through the addition of several "first ever" features. It is the first mobile workstation to offer the 32GB and 64GB ultra performance solid state drives, offering up to 35% faster read/write performance than traditional 5400RPM hard drives and 22% faster than 7200RPM hard drives.  

It also uses the new Intel 45 nanometer Penryn processors and the Intel Extreme Edition Core 2 Duo X9000 (2.80GHz) 6MB L2 Cache. Dell also doubled dedicated graphics memory by incorporating the nVidia Quadro FX 3600M with 512MB dedicated graphics – the fastest mobile professional graphics card offered by nVidia. It is also the first Dell notebook to offer 8GB total system memory 2 x 4GB DIMMs so that customers can work with even larger data sets.

Dell Precision M6300 Attributes:

• Memory: Power users can now configure the Dell Precision M6300 with up to 8GB of system memory, a first for Dell mobile systems. This removes an important barrier for many customers who have delayed switching to mobile platforms because of memory capacity compared to a desktop workstation.

• Solid state drives: New Ultra Performance SSDs deliver up to 35 percent more performance than traditional hard disk drives.

• Professional graphics: The latest NVIDIA® Quadro® FX3600M graphics solution provides stunningly realistic graphics performance.  This solution is optimized for Microsoft DirectX 10 and OpenGL professional applications.

• Processors: Intel ‘Penryn' processors use the new 45nm technology designed to deliver greater performance with better thermal and energy efficiency, including the Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme Edition X9000 (2.80GHz) 6MB L2 Cache with 800MHz front side bus.
