D-Link International, one of the world’s biggest suppliers of network products, unveils their new member for Draft IEEE 802.11n Series  - the D-Link wireless router (DIR-615). DIR-615 provides a cost-effective solution based on the latest wireless technology with increased security features for integration into an existing wireless network.

“Since the launch of our DIR-655 Draft N router last year, it has proven to be our most popular and best performing router amongst early adopters,” said Mr George Wong, Marketing Director of D-Link International Pte Ltd. “To encourage more consumers to adopt Draft N, we decided to introduce the DIR-615, our basic router in the Draft N series which provides a cost-effective solution with increased security features for integration into an existing wireless network, at an irresistible price tag. This, we believe, will further drive the adoption of the Draft N standard amongst consumers.”

Intelligent Antenna technology extends wireless range

Featuring D-Link’s latest Intelligent Antenna technology, the DIR-615 provides a stable wireless signal that is faster and covers a further distance than existing wireless 802.11g technology.  It transmits multiple streams of data which enable it to receive wireless signals even in the farthest corners of a home. It is compliant with Wi-Fi Alliance Draft 2.0 and works with Windows Vista OS, and is ideal for users who want to experience the power of Draft N without incurring too much investment.

Increased Security Features

The DIR-615 supports the latest wireless security features such as WPA and WPA2 to ensure the best available encryption. It also supports WPS for easy and more secured setup, and utilises dual active firewalls (SPI and NAT) to prevent potential attacks from across the Internet.

Convenient and Easy Setup

The DIR-615 can be easily configured using its web-based management interface, and can be used together with DWA-645, DWA-547, DWA-140 and DWA-142 (Draft N wireless adapter) to optimize the full benefit of Draft N technology.

The D-Link DIR-615 will be available in December through authorized retail, reseller, and distribution partners.

DIR-615 is retailing at the Suggested Retail Price of RM299.
