D-Link International, one of the
world's biggest suppliers of network products, has been named the sixth most
valuable Taiwanese global brand by the Taiwan External Trade Development
Council (TAITRA), BusinessNext and Interbrand. With a brand value of about 347
million USD and showing a strong 40% growth over last year, D-Link was not only
the highest ranked network company in this year's list. The networking company
also made the biggest improvement in ranking compared to other companies who
also made last year's list, gaining four places to become the sixth most
valuable brand.
Taiwan's
global brands have been growing strongly in the past year, with this year's top twenty brands becoming 33% more valuable than last year, and a total
brand value near 8.444 billion USD. This indicates that Taiwan is a
global leader for ODMs, EMS, and supply chains,
and that their branding opportunities are good for both regional and international markets.
The Top Taiwan Global Brand 2007 table is conducted according to Interbrand's methodology. It has been used to value the World's 100 most
valuable brands (published by BusinessWeek). The brand valuation methodology combines financial analysis, the Role of Branding Index and the Brand
Strength Score, providing a concrete indicator for Taiwan brands in the global
market. All industries were considered, and this year the annual list was
expanded from the top ten brands to the top twenty.
