BlackBerry Storm Launched In Malaysia
(13 votes)

BlackBerry fans would be happy to know that the BlackBerry Storm has been officially launched in Malaysia. Priding itself as being the world's first "clickable" touch-screen device, the Storm is 3G HSDPA enabled and comes with a 3.2MP camera, a gorgeous 3.25-inch 480 x 360 display, and also GPS functionality.

We are excited to introduce the first touch-screen based BlackBerry smartphone to consumers and business customers in Malaysia. The BlackBerry Storm provides the unique combination of a full-featured smartphone with a large vibrant screen and a truly tactile touch interface. It is a great choice for people seeking a powerful, intuitive and fun device for their mobile communications and entertainment needs.-- Gregory Wade, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific at Research In Motion.

The BlackBerry Storm will be available via Celcom and Maxis by the end of April 2009.

More information on the BlackBerry Storm can be found here: www.blackberry.com/storm

Actually i think the blackberry storm is a solid phone, its a smartphone for business minded people and not for kids to play around with, so i guess u dont expect all the features for kids to play with to be in it, and also about the wi-fi, i guess it will be upgraded soon, i must say, Blackberry is way too better than iphone, iphones are for kids, and BB is a business phone and not a gameboy...... i hope Blackberry and RIM wud consider upgrading the current blackberry storm 9500 with wi-fi when it releases the next one storm in september

Better than the iPhone? You must be kidding.

First of all, no Wi-Fi? This is obviously to satisfy the telco, as reported that BB had to remove Wi-Fi to appease the pressure from US telco giants saying they're losing income with subsidies because of the proliferation of Wi-Fi.

Because there is no reason any smartphone should not have Wi-Fi. What if i live in some part of Puchong or Penang and my home doesn't have a good 3G signal? Everything comes to a stop?

It's easy to say... just get the unlimited data plan. Yea, but unlimited data plan doesn't mean infinite coverage.

Battery life is pathetic. Can't even last one day. And the whole click screen thing is quite puzzling. You touch to highlight... but it doesn't do anything. You need to press down on the screen. So, don't see the point for this two-stage process.

You can't copy and paste from the BB Messenger. Only on email. I really don't see the point for a Blackberry unless your work lives and dies with the quick response to emails offered by the BB push email......

Unlike the smooth accelerometer screen rotation of the iPhone... the Blackberry Storm's rotation is a bit too enthusiastic. You tilt a bit, and the screen becomes landscape. Tilt slightly and it become portrait. Very annoying.

Typing email is not as fast as the Blackberry Bold.

Overall... not a very good phone. But if u absolutely live with emails, can consider any Blackberry. But if u like to watch movies, play games, listen to music, browse the internet, look elsewhere.
