Last week, BenQ, the current world's largest DLP (Digital Light Processing) projector launched a whole slew of projectors ranging from a high end dual-lamp model to a series of budget minded short throw projectors.
The new SP920 (6000 ANSI) and SP870 (5000 ANSI) utilizing BenQ's DLP BrilliantColor chipset is targeted towards business, education and government. Providing high brightness, superior picture quality and up to 2000:1 contrast ratio. Adapting a unique dual-lap positioning which alters the angles of light emission to reach its 6000 lumens, the SP920 not only improves energy conservation by increasing the efficiency but also as a backup lamp as it can also function with just one of its lamp in economy mode.
The SP870 on the other hand is considerably lighter, smaller and affordable but still comes packed with BrilliantColor technology, Hollywood Quality Video (HQV) and split-screen functionality. Weighing in at just 4.9kg, the SP870 is 70% lighter than its nearest competitor at the same lumen range.
Also launched was the MP Short-throw Projector series, the MP512 ST and
the MP522 ST. The MP512 ST was created specially for home entertainment
and gaming while the MP522 ST is more suitable for classrooms and
meeting rooms usage. As a projector for the home and for gaming, the
MP512 ST comes standard with a HDMI port, 2 integrated 5 watt speakers,
2200 lumens rating, 2500:1 contrast ratio and a short-throw distant
that is half of conventional projectors, perfect for connecting up to a
Playstation3 or XBOX.
The MP522 ST solves space concerns at office or school by projecting
55" screen images at just a distance of 1 meter. It has lumens rating
of 2000 and up to capable of displaying a screen size of up to 300".
The BenQ SP920 and SP870 retails at RM19,999 and RM10,999 while the
MP512ST and MP522ST retails at RM2,499 and RM2,999 respectively. All
models are available now.
