Asus intros new sound card with precision clock tuning

Called the Asus Xonar Essence ST, this PCI card is seemingly the world’s first audio card to incorporate precision clock tuning to minimize audio jitter, which produces a clearer and crisper listening experience.

The featured audio clock tuning uses a technique that was once only seen on top-tier living room equipment, now can be heard on the PC as well with 31% less audio jitter interference and free from unsynchronized input streams.

This results in extensive music details and lively sound image for the ultimate listening experience. The improvement is most significant during general audio CD playback where the sample rate is 44.1kHz.

This soundcard is capable of achieving an impressive 124dB SNR (Signa-to-Noise Ratio) with the use of the high end Burr-Brown PCM 1792A Digital-to-Analog Convertor (DAC) and features Asus exclusive Hyper-grounding and EMI Shield. It also has a built-in headphone amplifier.

The Xonar Essence ST comes standard with 5.1 output but can be upgraded to 7.1 with the use of the optional Xonar H6 multi-channel extension board.

Available now at most IT retailers at the suggested price of RM659.

Read on to find out it specifications.
