The Acer Veriton series represents a complete solution in business management technology as it empowers organizations to improve operational efficiency, increase up-time while proactively protects the organizations investment with built-in manageability.

Veriton M661 & S661 Series is designed to address the following four critical areas;

Security centric

1. Hard Drive Failure survival - With built-in RAID 1 / Mirror technology, users only need to add a second Hard Disk and setup the Mirror function to protect them from Hard Disk failure downtime and data Loss (for Veriton M661 only)

2. Hardware Level Encryption - With Trusted Platform Module (TPM) running up to 2048-bit key length Hardware-based cryptographic implementation of RSA supports Personal Secured Drive (PSD) for confidential data; file and directory Encryption with Acer eDataSecurity; enable Email Attachment Encryption; Instant Messaging Attachment Encryption ; Microsoft Windows Vista BitLocker technology found on the Enterprise and Ultimate Edition leverage on TPM too

3. Agent Presence Heart Beat Monitor - Using traditional Management software, Management Agents can be removed intentionally or unintentionally by users creating technical support issues & inaccuracy in reporting. With the current Intel AMT, Agents can now be monitored using the vPro hardware platform ensuring full compliance. E.g. a "circuit breaker" policy can be installed to automatically disconnect the PC from the network if someone hacks the agent

4. Remote System Recovery -Compared to the conventional way of having to be "hand hold" over the phone to recover a defective system. The system now offers technical staff the option to initiate and complete the back or recovery function from a remote location with Acer LANScope 3.5 Console 

5. Automated Data Backup - Bundled with NTI BackupNOW the Veriton PCs can now schedule data backup to DVD or CD Media, Server or even FTP server

6. Hardware level Packet Filtering - 32 in-bound & 32 out-bound filters can be set to monitor network traffic & responds to policy set to best protect the network against malicious attacks

7. Time Access Control - Enhanced access management by setting policy on network & KB-Mouse access to prevent unauthorized user access to the corporate network with Acer LANScope 3.5

Complete Manageability 

1.      Network, Hardware, Software & File Locking -System administrator can now restrict groups of users from Network access (e.g. no web surfing for certain users, while management network is still working), restrict hardware access (e.g. USB Drive, DVD Writers, etc.), software access (e.g. No Bittorrent downloads or games) and file type restriction (e.g. no MP3 files copying) all from the LANScope 3.5 Console

2.      Agent Presence & Critical Error Alert - Extensive Alerts can be monitored by the Acer LANScope 3.5 console from Agent removal to a system fan stopping on a particular PC under management.

3.      Remote System Recovery - IT Support Helpdesk can now manage Veriton system recovery from remote via a network link greatly enhances the effectiveness of call centers and turnaround time as the recovery I/O traffic is happening locally and not network dependent.

4.      Accurate Inventory Report & Alert - Acer LANScope 3.5 constantly monitors the hardware and software inventory, simplifying accurate report generation. Hardware audit can be carried out even when the PCs are OFF. These reports can be further customized or exported to CSV format for better analysis. Also included are  built-in Alert & Logging for hardware changes. The system administrator can immediately tackle a situation like memory theft on a public terminal when the alert arrives

5.      Remote Boot, Redirect & Support - One of the most powerful function of Intel AMT is to allow Remote Out Of Band (OOB is when the OS is in active) Technical Support. Defective PCs can be rebooted and screen display transferred to a remote Acer LANScope 3.5 Support Console for BIOS reconfiguration, remote ISO Image boot up for more hardware or OS diagnostic tools and even performing eRecovery all from remote. This is now possible with Serial Over LAN, IDE-Redirect and Windows Remote Terminal technology.

6.      Remote Software & Patch Install - Software & Patch Deployment can now be done from Remote more effectively. Previously, this is not effective as many PCs are powered off during the software or patch deployment. With vPro and Acer LANScope 3.5, these powered off Veriton PCs can be awaken for deployment
