Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the world
leader in memory products, announced the winners of their widely popular HyperX
Girl Design Contest,
a contest for both amateur and professional character designers in the APAC region to create the perfect
character model for HyperX, Kingston's
high-performance memory module product line. Malaysian designer, Sierra Chai and Taiwanese designer, Max Hsu, both
won the second prizes of the Professional Group; the winner of the Amateur Group
is Adam Potter from Australia
and the runner-up is Taiwanese designer, Yu-Wen Huang.
"It wasn't
easy to make the final decision since most of the entries are exquisite and
creative." explained Wei Wei Yin, Marketing Director of APAC Region, Kingston." We
finally came to the conclusion that all artworks in the final list will be the
spokespersons for different HyperX campaigns, aiming to deliver right messages
to the right audience."
It was a tough competition with total prizes reaching US$19,000 and
entries coming from Australia,
China, Hong
Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan,
Korea, Malaysia, New
Zealand, Singapore,
Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries in the
Asia Pacific region. The judgment was done through a panel of Kingston management combined with an online
voting system. The voting session was carried out from May 5th to 20th, 2008.
Now the
whole new HyperX Girls represent four different concepts of the HyperX product
line. The artwork created by Adam Potter was titled "Upgrade", symbolizing that HyperX breathes
a new life into any application. Kingston chose Yu-Wen Huang's HyperX Girl for the
overclocking campaign as HyperX always breaks the record and never reaches its limit,
just like a racing car. The
HyperX Girl, Xierra, created by Sierra Chai, shows that HyperX is not just a
RAM but a gladiator which is meant to Conquer, targeting the gaming segment. Max
Hsu colored his HyperX Girl in noble blue, which fits perfectly those who
desire for the premium product like HyperX.
"Kingston
is very delighted with the amazing responses to the design contest and appreciates
the passion and art work shared by every designer." added Wei Wei Yin. "With
the sexy and attractive HyperX Girl spokespersons, we are confident that HyperX
will become the first and only choice of the end-users."
