Comment: I'm writing this as an addition to anti rewlie comments. Rewlie's not just UPSTART/ARROGANT, he's also ECCENTRIC and EGOISTIC fool.From the comment that rewlie made shows that he/she works for TM thus defending what ever TMNet is doing.
At first I was just a reader/observer until I read rewlies comment that compel me to write this.His(I assume rewlie is a HE)first statment touched on UNLIMITED access where he said the TERM UNLIMITED means "you can online as long as you want, download as many as you can, with the speed assigned to you". Then your unlimited term does not apply where we can't online as long as we can because of the frequent disconnection.It happens to me when I needed to be online most and I can't connect for a week. I've been calling the help line and all I get is "The FAULTS on your side".I think thats one of TM strategies to ward off user from calling them by giving all the rubbish answer so we'll be tired of calling them."Download as many as you can, with the speed assigned to you", how can we download as much as we can when you assigned a speed lower then we subscibed then blame it on BEST EFFORT.Subscribing 1M but get speed less than 512k, what kind of BEST EFFORT is that ... seems like no effort at all.Now you're shapping/throtling the traffic.When we do download as much as we can, you blame us for using to much bandwidth.What the heck is this!!
You are right saying we don't own your network but we subscribe the service to use your network and we paid for it. As a paid customer we deserve to get a better service.You said that you need to 'Jaga Hati' all your big voip company, then who's gonna 'Jaga Hati' your not so big comsumer? Rather spending millions on events and publicity, why don't use the money to upgrade the facility.Then maybe that way you 'Jaga Hati' both parties.
I do download linux distros thru bittorrent everyday because streamyx speed so slow that I can't finish it in a day.It takes weeks just to download the ISO.Thats not a waste of bandwidth but time.Your data transfer log shows 90% downloading porn and dvdrip. That also include TM staff downloading those things right? Or you NEVER EVER download illegal stuff in the net? Then we can nominate you for saint hood for being so CLEAN.It would be a shame to TM if gov throw your staff and other people in jail.
What drive me over the edge with rewlie is his statement saying malaysians are illiterate(or stupid) when saying about SNR margin,traceroute and other technical stuff. It's not like they teach us all this in school .. DUH.You can say that because it seems like you work in that field and have knowledge about it. Atleast don't ridicule people, teach them about it. We're not stupid, we can google things we don't know(provided the connection is up) like SNR margin. Thats Signal to Noise Ratio margin that talks about quality of the signal.It does not take a genius to google it.I don't play online games but i know how traceroute works but does a teenage kids with no IT background knows how to traceroute? Use your brain man ... not all people know what you know and you also don't know everything.Thats the beauty of sharing information.
You said overseas ISP start with the traffic shaping and its wise that TM follow suit. What if overseas ISP start to give free broadband ... would TM follow?Even if TM give in to other player, TM would just find a way in the loophole to strangle them to death i.e high lease rate. Thats because you control the connection to the outside world.
I think that all from me ... sorry guys for the long comment. I just need to get it out of my chest after reading rewlie comment.Better ISP from mars rather ISP from hell(TMNet).Who knows there might be an ISP from mars thats more intelligent than the one behind TMNet.
