Breaking news. You read it here first. Film at 11.
P2P uses a lot of bandwidth apparently.
Peer-to-peer (P2P) traffic is choking up local broadband lines with 20% of users utilising 80% of the total bandwidth, according to Internet service provider (ISP) TM Net Sdn Bhd.
Dr Fadhullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek, general manager of TM Net’s corporate and strategy services, said that as the number of local broadband subscribers increases, more users are expected to use P2P applications such as Kazaa and BitTorrent to transfer files online.
Such applications are often left on all day so they use much more bandwidth compared to
users who merely use the Internet to surf or chat,” he said.
Now who would do such a thing? :)
The article also talks about the introduction of metered packages for low-bandwidth users later this year.

We saw this coming as far as the turn of the year, but compared to the usual 10 to 20 cents hike, the increase this time is a staggering RM0.30 cents that brings the price of petrol to RM1.92 per litre. The price of LPG also has been increased by 30 cent per kilogram (why?). Thats a 18% increase overnight. Public transport anybody?
The only good news it would seem is the Government promises there would be no more price increases till the end of the year.

Our forums have been abuzz since early yesterday with reports of piped water having an unbearable stench. Only certain areas seem to be experiencing this, and Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (SYABAS) doesn't seem to have an explanation as yet. The mainstream media has also yet to pick this up, so head over to our forums if you want to report the condition of the water at your place. With the sudden floods that hit areas of Shah Alam yesterday, it is highly likely that the water processing plant at Sg Selangor might have been affected. You might want to lodge a report with SYABAS customer service if your area is affected and hope that the problem is resolved soon. According to the SYABAS website (www.syabas.com.my), their customer service hotline at 1-800-88-5252 is operational 24 hours. Alternatively you can text PUSPEL <text...> to 39222.
UPDATE: China Press has an article on this issue available online here.
6PM UPDATE: SYABAS has a press release regarding the contamination on their website, which you can read here by clicking on "Read More".

You've got loads of creativity, but you don't want to get yourself tangled up in a web of code. But you still want that elusive personal website to call your own. Google has the answer, Google Page Creator.
Built on the ever expanding AJAX technology, Googles Page Creator allows on the fly, drag and drop functions to have your webpage up in a matter of minutes. The What you see if what you get (WYSIWYG) editor ensures that there is not one bit of html code that has to be edited (though the option exist for those who require it). Don't have a hosting service to put your page up? Don't worry, Google has also thrown in 100MB of free hosting space that you can make use of, that will reside on http://yournamehere.googlepages.com. Now start building your homepages away at http://pages.google.com (Update: registration temporarily on hold, as usual, google services get too much of traffic when newly introduced)
