Motorola S9 Bluetooth Stereo Headset

With the plethora of Bluetooth headsets out there, it was necessary for Motorola to come up with something unique to appeal to both casual and music loving mobile phone users. Behold the Motorola S9 Bluetooth Headphones. Not only is it supports stereo audio playback but it also doubles as a headset to receive and make calls. Also the design of the S9 seems to suggest it was develop to cater for joggers as it is water and sweat resistant.

It supports any phones that supports A2DP, that’s Bluetooth Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. However while it sync perfectly with my V8 test unit and also my wife’s U6, it failed to connect to my V3x… maybe it’s just a problem with my phone.

The bundle also included a phone armband and I suggest you use it to store your phone if you’re on the go or exercising . Why? Because when I tried to keep the phone in my pocket or even in my bag, I started to experience plenty of on off interference with every step I took. Weird since Bluetooth doesn’t need a line of sight to connect…

Music quality is OK, definitely a few notch better then those mono headsets that Motorola has sold by the millions. Still can’t beat the pure quality of the current crop of noise cancelling wired head buds especially on the low and high tones. Buttons location on the headsets are easily accessible, with the power button at the back just beside the battery/link indicator and the USB port.

Then on the right side, you have the play/pause and forward/back buttons while on the left, you’ll find the volume up/down buttons plus the accept call/voice command button. All these buttons worked perfectly on the V8, however while the S9 could be used on another brand of phone, I doubt the buttons will work properly. While listening to your favorite band, if a call comes in, you get a distinct sound to alert you about the call. You just have to press the accept call button to answer the call. Press it again to end the call and your music continues where you left off. However due to the distance of the microphone on the headset to your mouth, it tends to pick up lots of background sound and it can be hard of the person on the other side to hear you properly. It’s best to find a quiet place to continue your conversation.

Do note that this headset is no way compatible with anyone wearing spectacles. Guess it must have slipped their mind about the many joggers who wear sun glasses while jogging.  Overall, the S9 Bluetooth headset are a great music device for music lovers and joggers especially with the wireless connectivity. But audiophiles may want to stick to their wired buds.

I bought this bluetooth for quite some time. I have to disagree with Aggronax. This bluetooth is excellent for Phonecalls. I do not understand why do you nead to hear outside noise ? what does that mean anyway ? I use this Handsfree with my N95 and it's a perfect match. I saw some Motophone comes together with this handsfree bluetooh.
