DiGi has launched Music Freedom, a service that allows subscribers to stream music without using incurring data charges. At the heart of this is the Music Freedom app, that also gives fans the opportunity to claim free music tickets for live concerts.
New documents have revealed an extensive campaign by the American National Security Agency (NSA) and British Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) to steal and decrypt information from global telecommunications networks. This involved hacking into and monitoring the manufacture of SIM cards that form the backbone of all smartphone communications.
A woman was shocked to discover that her son had somehow managed to rack up a bill of RM586,553 on his smartphone. However, DiGi eventually noticed the error and it was discovered that the massive number was a result of a missed decimal point; the actual amount owed is “only” RM5,865.53.
Local telco Maxis has deployed 1000 of its own employees in a Peninsula Malaysia-wide test of its modernised data network.
