Microsoft has expanded the list for the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones to cover even more Lumia devices. There are still some glaring holes in the list, like the Lumia 930; although it is nice to see the Technical Preview arriving on the Lumia 1020 and 1520.
If you’re a Windows Phone fan, take note. The Microsoft Lumia 640 XL has been spotted in SIRIM’s database, suggesting that the new device could very well be launched in Malaysia soon. First unveiled at MWC 2015, the 640 XL is the bigger brother to the Lumia 640.
Microsoft has offically announced the Lumia 640 (shown above) after accidentally outing the device yesterday. The Windows Phone 8.1 powered smartphone is an entry level smartphone, that seems to be preparing the market for the arrival of Windows 10. A larger Lumia 640 XL being made available at the same time.
Qualcomm has accidentally spilled the beans on a new Microsoft Lumia smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 810 processor. This comes as a surprise as Microsoft has been quite content to put out budget devices for the last few months; even the flagship Lumia 830 wasn’t exactly bristling with top of the line specifications.

The Lumia Camera app has been confirmed to be the default camera app for all Windows 10 devices. This extends to all devices running the new operating system from Microsoft, including PCs, tablets, and of course, smartphones.
Microsoft has announced two new budget devices in the Lumia 435 and Lumia 532. Both are 4-inch smartphones that come in both single- and dual-SIM variants, and are an indication that the company is mainly targeting the low-end market.
What appears to be a new budget smartphone from Microsoft has appeared on the database of ANATEL, Brazil’s equivalent to SIRIM. The Lumia 435 is rumoured to be the successor to the current Lumia 535, although it is unclear if it is meant to be a replacement or an even lower-cost version.
Samsung is apparently looking into making low- and mid-range smartphones using the Windows Phone platform in an effort to diversify its product range. Of course, it would only do this if the current legal dispute with Microsoft came to an end.
A Windows Phone fan group has posted a screenshot of what appears to be a new update for devices running Lumia Denim. The update appears to remove the Preview for Developers, and leaving the Phone Insider app.
Microsoft is offloading MixRadio to instant messaging service Line. MixRadio is a music streaming app currently running on Windows Phone that allows for automated playlists created from the users preferences and listening habits. What Line intends to do with this kind of service is still unknown.
Windows Phones owner will be delighted to know that Microsoft has just introduced the Gestures Beta app. This app is available for download from today onwards and it enables you to answer, mute, and turn the on speaker phone without even touching the screen.
Nokia may have sold its devices division to Microsoft, but it is still apparently very capable of putting out new products. As expected, Microsoft Malaysia today has launched two new Windows Phones devices for our market in the form of Nokia Lumia 735 and Lumia 830 (shown above). Both devices were initially announced during IFA 2014 in Berlin just few weeks ago.
