Well, that was unexpected. In a swift response to recent telco developments, Celcom has unleashed its best postpaid plan ever: the First Gold. Offering a staggering 10GB of data plus unlimited calls and texts to all networks for just RM80 a month, this plan is one of the best we’ve seen yet from any telco.

In addition to its domestic roaming deal with TM for the upcoming P1 mobile services, Celcom has also unveiled its plan to offer its own fixed broadband services. This service will be utilizing TM’s High Speed Broadband infrastructure – similar in nature as per Maxis Fibre.
While some users might not be aware of this, TM is currently working to turn P1 into a mobile player. By that, we mean as a full fledged telco service instead of just being ISP. Today, the company today has taken one step closer to its mobile ambition by signing domestic roaming partnership with Celcom.
About a month ago, Celcom introduced its “Greatest Giveaway” campaign that will run for three months. Last month, Celcom gave out RM1 million worth of movie tickets. This time around, the company is giving out more than one million litres worth of petrol, in the form of RM30 petrol vouchers.
In conjunction with the two new First Internet plans, Celcom has added Apple’s latest iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 to its online store. With how competitive telcos are now, those interested in getting the iPad Pro bundled with a mobile internet plan now have an additional option.
Truth to be told, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) serves fines to telcos quite often which is why this news might not be surprising to some of our readers out there. Nevertheless, the reason for this particular set of fines is rather concerning since they involve false registration for prepaid SIM cards.
With all the talk about mobile internet plans and their fees, Celcom understands how important the internet is to its customers, which is why the company has unveiled two new plans – the First Blue Internet and First Gold Internet – to give more data at the same price of RM45 and RM100 respectively.
Celcom has just launched its “Greatest Giveaway” campaign – ‘Millions of Magic’ for Xpax customers and ‘Unarguably The Greatest Giveaway’ for FiRST subscribers. Different rewards will be given out throughout a period of three months, with more than RM1 million worth of movie tickets to be given out for the first month.
Celcom has just unveiled two new FIRST postpaid plans, offering up to 12GB of mobile internet. Subscribers get to stream unlimited music, and their usage can even earn them bonus internet of up to 2GB. Not to mention Celcom’s feature to carry forward unused internet.
Maxis recently announced that it now has the largest 4G coverage in the country, and that seems to have spurred the telco into doing something rather unusual. As one of the three largest mobile telcos in the industry, Maxis is publicly inviting chief engineers from Celcom and Digi to an open dialogue on 4G measurement standards.
Celcom users have been reporting network issues for the last three hours. It is unknown what is causing the problems, but it appears to be affecting users within Peninsula Malaysia.
Xpax’s Fantasy Fest 2015 will be returning on the 28th and 29th of November 2015. The event is held to promote their MAGIC SIM and all attendees are to expect lots of activities including gaming tournaments, cosplay competitions and giveaways.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus has been officially launched in Malaysia, and Celcom has outlined its mobile plans and bundles for the latest Apple device. Interestingly, Celcom is now also offering the smartphone as an off contract purchase for Xpax Magic SIM users.
