The next installment of the Borderlands series is now on pre-order for Steam. Titled Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the game is set in the time period before the villain of Borderlands 2, Handsome Jack, rose to power and took control of Pandora. To celebrate this, publisher 2K Games is putting most of its Steam catalogue on a 75% sale for the weekend.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel introduces four new playable characters to the world of Pandora. Although, these are not technically new characters as they have appeared in a different form in Borderlands 2. The biggest attraction would be the opportunity to play as a Claptrap unit; who had previously provided comic relief in BL2.
This pre-order is also offering a 10% discount for those who own Borderlands or Borderland 2; however, it will only last until 26 August. Steam is having a free weekend for Borderlands 2, so this might be a good place to decide if the series is worth looking into.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches 18 October 2014.
