If you didn’t know any better, you might have thought that the Asus media conference at Mobile World Congress is some kind of a magic show. Fortunately, the company is actually there to launch new devices which include the latest addition to Padfone smartphone-tablet hybrid family – the new Asus PadFone Infinity.
Runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Asus Padfone Infinity smartphone is equipped with a 5-inch full HD Super IPS display which boasts a pixel density of 441 ppi, 1920×1080 graphics resolution and anti-fingerprint coating. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset which features a 1.7GHz quad-core CPU and Adreno 320 GPU, the device is also equipped with 2GB of RAM as well as internal storage options of either 32GB or 64GB.
Asus has also installed a 13-megapixels sensor from Sony into the PadFone Infinity smartphone and paired it together with an f/2.0 5-element lens as well as a LED flash. Additionally, there’s also a 2-megapixels camera on the front side of the phone. Other features on PadFone Infinity smartphone include NFC capability (with PadFone logo on its back as the antenna), LTE connectivity, and non-removable 2400mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the PadFone Infinity tablet module (a.k.a the PadFone Station) comes with a full HD 10.1-inch Super IPS display which features a graphic resolution of 1900×1200. There are also a 1-megapixels front-facing camera, a built-in speaker with Asus Sonic Master audio enhancement, and non-removable 5000mAh battery which offers the PadFone Infinity a battery life to up to 40 hours of 3G talk time.
The new Asus PadFone Infinity will be released in Taiwan this coming April with a price tag of RM 4108 (EUR 999), while the rest of the world will receive it sometime in the second quarter of 2013. i don’t think that they could attract buyers with their expensive price, hopefully that’s not the final price
Like people gonna buy a phone at RM4100..come on, Asus..its just another smart phone with a tablet as dongle to zoom apps & etc..
with that price, people could buy a set of HTC Butterfly & at the same time, Sony Xperia Z,
Think – Having just a Padphone is more glamour OR having 2 latest smart phone is better?
stupid price.. a let down from asus .. pagasus
RM4100? Seriously? Padfone 2 cost less than 3k and now they are boosting their price to 4k? Seriously, you can buy an iPad with an iPhone with that kind of money, and with the S4 coming out, Asus is going have a hard time marketing this. What most people love about the Padfone 2 is the fact that you get a phone AND a tablet for 2.5k+ , compared to other companies’ flagships that cost 2k by themselves.
Hopefully the final price will be about 2.5k give or take 0.5k (bout same as Padfone 2), otherwise very few will be able to afford it.
RM4100 with a phone + none function pad?!
i can buy iphone5+ipad with retina and still got Rm500 = =||
Base on the http://www.gsmarena.com
price will be around ( TWD 20,990 ($702; €547) for a device with 32GB of built-in memory, and TWS 22,990 ($769; €599) for a 64GB version. The tablet dock adds TWD 5,000 ($167; €130) to the bottom line. )
when will this thing be release?? it’s said that it will be launched on April worldwide but till now there are no news on when it will be release in Malaysia, very dissapointed on the consistency of Asus.
