In a PDF found on the HP site, it looks like we are closer to seeing the first Chromebook from HP. The Pavilion Chromebook features a 1.1GHz Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB SSD and a 14inch 1366×768 display. The display is larger than its competition from Acer, Lenovo and Samsung but will run on the same resolution as the smaller counterparts. Unfortunately, HP has said that they are expecting a measly 4 hours of battery life compared to the robust 7 hours of their competition.
What do you think? How will Chromebooks fit into your life? Is it just something that will fizzle out after 1 generation or is it the next big thing in mobile computing?

…I believe, today we see plenty of computer manufacturers trying to free themselves from Windows licensing. However, is hardly believe that if Linux can replace Windows, long time ago, it already did, not until now. You may think clone office software like openoffice, libre office were identical to Microsoft Office, try ask an Excel Expert and operates on Linux Office software and see, and the feedback is, Microsoft Office takes the cake. I don’t get impressed with Google Native Client SDK as it just not full C/C++ development, in fact, is Java based eventually.
